서장훈은 2013년 3월 은퇴하기까지 13,231득점, 5, 235리바운드라는 대기록으로 현역 생활을 마감했으며, 프로농구 역사상 최초로 1만 득점-5천 리바운드 기록을 보유해 ‘국보급 센터’라는 별명으로 회자되고 있다. 서장훈은 은퇴 이후 2013년 MBC ‘무한도전-웃겨야 산다’ 특집에 출연해 본격적으로 예능에 진출하면서 방송인으로 변신했다. 이후 2014년 MBC ‘사남일녀’를 시작으로 다수의 예능에 출연했으며, 현재 JTBC '아는 형님', SBS '미운 우리 새끼‘, KBS Joy ‘무엇이든 물어보살＇ 등 인기 예능에서 활약하고 있다.
Janghoon Seo retired in March 2013 with a milestone of scoring 13,231 points and grabbing 5,235 rebounds in Korea’s Pro Basketball League. He was the first to hold a record of 10,000 points and 5,000 rebounds in Korean Basketball League, thus having the nickname of 'center of Korea.' After his retirement, he appeared in 2013 MBC 'Infinite Challenge' and started his career as an entertainer. Then in 2014, beginning with MBC 'Four Sons and One Daughter', he has been on many shows. Now, he has been playing valuable roles in popular shows such as JTBC 'Knowing Bros', SBS 'My Naughty Son', KBS Joy 'Ask Anything' and so on.
